  • Microblading is a semi permanent form of cosmetic tattooing. We use a tool with a small blade attached to it. The blade is made up of a row of tiny needles. Then a pigment (the color) is deposited into the skin and the blade and pigment are used to create realistic hair strokes along the brow line. Microblading pigment heals more soft and subtle than a traditional tattoo.

  • A good candidate for microblading isn’t solely based on hair, your skin type plays a big role. If your skin is oily the microblading can fade faster so touch ups may be more frequent. Sensitive and reactive skin may not be the best candidates since microblading initially causes some inflammation to the skin. Microblading on Cystic acne and Psoriasis can irritate the already sensitive skin and can affect the healing process.

Brow hair plays a factor because if the hair is too thin you will want an advanced microblading artist to make sure the hair strokes look natural because there won’t already be brow hair flow to follow. With thicker eyebrow hair, the density and fullness of the hair can make it difficult to add more hair strokes without them getting lost in the hair and looking unnatural.

If you have previous microblading or PMU I will not take you on as a client. Every artist has a different stroke pattern and I can’t guarantee the best results if I’m trying to go over another artists work. Sometimes more than just microblading is needed to fix/cover previous work and I am not certified for any shading work yet.

Since I am still a new PMU artist I may recommend you to another artist until I am more experienced for certain clients. Please note this is only because I want you to have the best experience and be so happy with your brows!

  • PRE CARE

    2 WEEKS BEFORE:

•TOPICALS: Please refrain from using any retin-a products around the forehead/eyebrow area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

SKIN TREATMENTS/HAIR: No waxing, tweezing, threading, facials, peels, laser treatments, or electrolysis 2 weeks prior to your appointment. We need your skin to be strong, non-irritated, and non-sensitive. It is actually helpful for me to see your brows grown out and in their natural state. I can clean them up during your appointment.

•ANTIBIOTICS: No antibiotics at least 14 days before appointment. Antibiotics can effect the healing process and hinder results.

•SUN EXPOSURE: Be mindful of sun exposure before your appointment. No tanning and no sunburned skin for your procedure. Not only will this be painful for you, but tanned or sunburnt skin is damaged skin, applying a tattoo over this will give you poorly healed results.

BOTOX: You do not need Botox to get microblading. This is simply a guideline to plan accordingly if you already receive Botox or any injectables. Botox must be done at least 14 days before your appointment.

    ONE WEEK BEFORE:

•VITAMINS/TOPICALS: No fish oil or Vitamin E one week before your appointment. These are blood thinners and will effect your bleeding during your procedure.

•TINTING: If you regularly tint your brows please tint at least 7 days before your appointment. This can effect the color match for your procedure.

    24 HOURS BEFORE:

NO ALCOHOL OR CAFFEINE! This is very important! To minimize bleeding during the procedure please avoid any alcohol and caffeine.

•BLOOD THINNING MEDICATIONS: Ibuprofen and Advil should be avoided to minimize bleeding during procedure. These are blood thinners.

    DAY OF APPOINTMENT:

•WASH YOUR HAIR: You will need to keep your brows dry for the next 10-14 days, washing your hair the night before or the day of is recommended so you’re not hassling in the shower for the first few days after appointment.

NO EXERCISE: This will increase blood flow and cause excessive bleeding during the appointment which leads to poor healed results.

MAKEUP: We will be taking photos/videos so please come however you feel most comfortable. If there is a certain way you fill in your brows, it’s helpful to see how you are used to shape and color them.

•PLAN AHEAD: PLEASE CHECK TRAFFIC. I have a strict late policy. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes early or on time to your appointment.

  • For the first few hours after your appointment gently blot the brow area with a clean paper towel to absorb excess lymph fluid. Wash brows for the first time within 4 hours of your procedure. Then cleanse morning and night for 7-10 days or until flaking has stopped. Apply healing balm 3 times a day for 2 weeks. (If skin is oily, 2 times a day).

    CLEANSING YOUR BROWS:

•Make sure to wash brows OUTSIDE of the shower and in front of a mirror so you can see yourself washing the entire brow area.

•Make sure to have CLEAN hands and fingertips, then gently wet your new brow tattoo with water (on the cooler side, NOT hot water).

    • With your clean fingertips, USE ONLY THE SOAP PROVIDED in aftercare kit.

•Create a small later and apply suds to your brows making sure to follow the direction of your hair growth. NO CIRCLES OR HARD RUBBING.

•Rinse well with cool water, make sure to get ALL soap residue off.

•Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

    APPLYING HEALING BALM:

•Make sure brows are completely dry before applying on skin. NO wet brows.

•Apply a RICE GRAIN sized amount of healing balm with clean fingertip or Q-Tip directly to brow tattoo in the direction of hair growth.

•Make sure to use a LIGHT AMOUNT so the skin is still able to breathe. The brows should NEVER appear shiny.

•If balm is over-applied it can delay the healing process and hurt your results.

•If you aren’t sure, take a clean paper towel and lightly blot the brow.

    IMPORTANT TIPS:

•KEEP DRY! No shower water, sauna, hot tub, ocean, lake, or sweat until completely healed (no scabbing or flaking left) usually 10 days.

•KEEP DRY! Avoid shower water! Try to limit shower time (5-7 minutes). Hot steamy showers will open the pores and cause scabs to soften. AVOID shampoo and conditioner running down your face; this WILL cause discoloration!

•NO SWEATING excessively for 10 DAYS. Sweat contains salt which can cause infection, fade your brow tattoo, or alter the color of your brow tattoo.

•NO makeup, NO lotion, NO face wash on brows until completely healed.

•DO NOT rub, scratch, or pick scabs.

•AVOID direct exposure to sun for 2 weeks.

•NO ANTI AGING OR ACNE PRODUCTS on brows EVER (Retinol, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, etc.) This will cause discoloration and fading very quickly!

Please consult a physician at the first sign or abnormal swelling or infection.

    HEALING: WHAT TO EXPECT:

Your brows will itch and scab during the healing process.

    DO NOT ITCH YOUR BROWS

    DO NOT PICK YOUR BROWS

This will prolong your healing process and will affect the end result of your microbladed brows. Picking and scratching at your brows may also cause irritation or even infection!

Only touch your brows when washing your brows and applying the healing balm. Make sure hands and fingers are washed before.

  • How long does the procedure take? Procedure time will always vary. I like to time the initial session at about 3 hours. I will always take my time to make sure you are comfortable and I explain the process along the way.

    Initial brow service:

    •Paperwork and questions: 10-30 minutes

    •Mapping, pre-draw, and numbing: 1 hour

    •Procedure: 1 hour

    •Reveal, photos, aftercare: 30 minutes

    Touch up session:

    •Pre-draw: 15-30 minutes

    •Procedure: 50-80 minutes

Does microblading hurt? Most clients report a pain level of 1-2 out of 10. Mostly little to no pain. There is also 2 different kinds of numbing used to make sure you’re comfortable. The first numbing is used pre-procedure and the second is used once the skin as been broken. I have also had PMU on my own brows so I understand the experience that you’ll be undergoing.

Why do I need 2 sessions? (perfecting session): After your brows have healed we can see how your skin takes to the pigment. Even with great aftercare the pigment can fade out and the hair strokes may be faint. THIS IS NORMAL! The second session is important to make adjustments on color and/or depth to perfect the final outcome.

How long will my Microblading brows last? After the initial session and your 6-12 week perfecting session, your new cosmetic tattoo will last 18+ months. “Annual” color boosts can be done between 12-24 months to keep your brows looking fresh and crisp. These “annual” boosts are recommended once the brows are at least 50% faded before implanting more ink into the skin. This helps keep the skin in good condition and keep the hair strokes crisp. (Think of your skin as a sponge, the skin can only hold so much ink before it has no where to go).

When do I need to book my annual color boost?: The longevity of your brows always depend. Your lifestyle, sun exposure, overall health, skin type, skin care routine, etc. will determine how your brows look. I suggest letting your brows fade 50-60% before booking an “annual” color boost. The skin is only able to take so much pigment and I want to keep up the integrity of the skin so your brows look fresh and are healthy. If you feel unsure if you need to book an appointment, please send me a clear photo so I can determine if a color boost is needed.

When can I wear makeup? Will I still need to fill in my brows?: Absolutely NO makeup while brows are healing. NEVER during the healing period. After 2 weeks, once brows are healed, then it is safe to use makeup. Keep in mind if you over-exfoliate the brow area you can prematurely fade your brows, so be gentle. Permanent makeup is LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance. Microblading is the most natural of the PMU styles, so you may still want to use brow powder for a full face makeup look.

Will you do my brows if I have had them done before?: At this time, NO, UNLESS: Your brows would have to be almost 100% faded for me to to consider it, and I would need to see a photo before booking. This is to make sure I’m able to give you the best results possible.
